The series of work looks at the space in which my dad has worked for as long as I can remember, as I child would spend time in the shop after school and soon became accustomed to this surreal and unfriendly space. It had been a good few years since I last visited the shop and I decided that after some time I wanted to document it as it held memories to me in a strange way, despite it being an old fashioned trade in this day and age. I decided that this time I would look at the space and the people that worked with in as they were fundamental to the place and were a large part of the documenting the shop as it was here and now. I wanted to looks at some of the changes and some of the things that were still the same as I had remembered them.
I choose to use medium format in such as small space to make more considered images that would effectively show the space as a busy work place. I also wanted to capture the light in the space as it is a light and airy shop and this was important to the atmosphere of the work for me. Over all I feel that the series has come together to show all these ideas.
